Tech is militarizing borders and increasing the power of the police. AI is aiding in the genocide of Palestinians. Globally, half the world’s population will experience national elections that will be shaped by mis and disinformation. Location data is used to target people who access health services like abortion. The world’s wealthiest people are tech bros at a time when our communities are struggling to make ends meet. We are at a crossroad, and we need stronger strategies and relationships to reclaim technology for our people.

Take Back Tech is a gathering for organizers, advocates, academics, and workers who are looking for a space to deepen the connections and strategies we’ll need to combat technology’s worst harms. This years tech gathering offers over 30 workshops. We’ve uploaded workshop materials and recordings onto the El Instituto educational platform to allow you to revisit content or explore new workshops. Enjoy!
